Discerning Pre-Step 6 of 6

HOW DO WE COME TO KNOW?

6. TEST ALL THINGS! (I Thessalonians 5:21)

FEELING                                    OR                                       TESTING

The Duh Decisions

Common-Sense Issues.

The Difficult Decisions

Reasonable and Biblical observations.

The idea of testing, means to test and approve the options against God’s Word.

I Thessalonians 5:21-2221but test everything; hold fast what is good. 22Abstain from every form of evil.”, and Romans 12:22Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Essential Questions

What will glorify God the most, and why?  What does God’s Word say about such things?  In what ways will each of these options help me to focus more on God?  God, how do You want to glorify Yourself in and through me in these options?

Much fervent Prayer, serious study of God’s Word, open discussions with other trusted Christian friends, family, and leaders should be steady throughout the whole testing phase.
