Testing the Tests

Our thinking must be informed, conformed, reformed, and transformed by the Word of God.  We can only come to know the truth of God’s Word and God’s Will as we think Biblically and pray fervently through all things pertaining to the issue at hand.

We must be actively thinking things through with God in prayer and His Word and with other trustworthy Christians who will speak encouraging and sometimes difficult truth into our lives.  Do you have this kind of friend?  Are you this kind of friend?

Seeking Him, Serving Him, Submitting to Him, Talking to Him, Trusting Him, and Testing all things cannot be accomplished at all without praying to God, diving deep into His Word, and trusting Him completely!

“God has ordained that the eye-opening work of his Spirit always be combined with the mind-informing work of his Word.   (Piper, John., A Godward Life Volume Two, pg. 184)

Why is it so difficult to find out God’s will?

It is a process, and this process is full of purpose!  The road for the Christian is not a painless road, but neither is it a joyless one.

1. SEEK HIM! (Psalm 27:8; 105:4) – WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

2. SERVE HIM! (Romans 12:11) – WHAT ARE WE DOING (NOW)?

3. SUBMIT TO HIM! (James 4:7; Psalm 143:8-10) – WHO’S THE BOSS?!?

4. TALK TO HIM! (Philippians 1:9-11; Colossians 1:9-10) – WHY DO WE HAVE NOT?

5. TRUST HIM! (Psalm 62:8) – DO WE WANT TO FOLLOW STEPS OR A SHEPHERD?

6. TEST ALL THINGS! (I Thessalonians 5:21) – HOW DO WE COME TO KNOW?
