November 2008

Give thanks this day, and everyday, for HE is worthy and we are not, yet we receive so much blessing that we have anti-deserved.

GRACE, GRACE, GOD’S GRACE!

Thank You, My Father!  (James 1:17)

Jesus tells us how Christians come to remember the truth in John 14:25-26.

His message was that the Holy Spirit, as the Helper of His eleven disciples (and us), would both teach them and remind them of what Jesus taught, no doubt in order that they would be able to teach the early Church and write the New Testament with accuracy and authority.

And part of the principle translates to us modern day disciples as well, namely, that both as we take in the teaching of Jesus (i.e., the Word), the Holy Spirit will be our Helper in teaching the Truth to us and that after we have taken in the Word, the Holy Spirit will be our Helper in reminding us of the Truth when we need it for conviction, encouragment, etc….

Therefore, as true Christians who have the Holy Spirit of God as our Helper, we must never view or say that the teaching of Scripture is in vain.  For He will bring it back to our minds at the proper time, even if we don’t find much “help” at the moment of first hearing/learning.

Isaiah 55:10-11 — God’s Word is always effective!

In view of this, we must be humbly, consciously relying on the Holy Spirit as we come to the Bible, as we are taught the Bible, as we memorize the Bible, and so on… all because it is He alone who is our Helper for the ministry of the Word to our hearts, heads, and lives.

Pray to the Holy Spirit as God; Trust in Him as our Teacher and Reminder;

Submit to Him as Lord; Praise Him as our Helper!

κραζω (kradzo) = I cry out

In Mark 10:46-52, a blind man named Bartimaeus, cried out (kradzein) for Jesus to have mercy on him.  And when others rebuked him, he cried out (ekradzen) all the more!

And in v. 49, upon hearing the crying out of the blind beggar, Jesus stopped and called for the man to come to Him.

Now those who rebuked him moments before said, “Take heart.  Get up; He is calling you.”  He healed the beggar who, with faith in Jesus, cried out for mercy from Him, and “immediately he recovered his sight and followed Him on the way.”

Don’t we all need to cry out (kradzo) to Jesus more and more for merciful healing by His grace, through faith in Him?!?

Do you want the world to be reached?

Do you fight for the Church to be reformed?

Do you long for the family to be restored?

Check out St. Louis FamilyCamp’s website: www.stlfamilycamp.com to see how these are being pursued in a combined and Biblical way.

Today is the first day the website is live!

I don’t particularly like politics.

I did not vote for Barak Obama.

I disagree with and find dispicable much, if not most, of his political policies and values.

I am saddened that he is our new President Elect.

With all of that said, I love him.  (more…)
